How do I apply a multi-column sort to a 360 Report?

Answer

You can sort the data in a 360 Report by more than one column. For example, sorting by Date first, then by Title. To do this, use the SHIFT Key.

Follow these steps:

  • Start the First Sort: Press and hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard. While holding it, click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) in the column header of the first column you want to sort. While continuing to hold the SHIFT key, choose the sort order from the menu or click the arrow to sort the column in ascending or descending order.

This is a partial SUI of a 360 Report showing end users how to set the sort order on the first column when the user wants to sort multiple columns.
  • Add the Second Sort: Continue to hold the SHIFT key. Click directly on the name of the second column to sort. You will see a small number 1 and 2 appear next to the arrows in the selected columns. You can repeat this action on as many columns as you want.

This is a SUI that shows the 360 report user how to apply the sort on a second column in a multi-column sort.
  • Adjust the Sort Direction. If you want to switch one of your columns from ascending to descending (or vice versa), continue to hold down the SHIFT key and click the arrow icon in each column header.

Tip

Why isn't the order updating from ascending to descending (or vice versa)? Only click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) for the very first column to sort. For the second (or third, fourth, etc.) columns, click directly on the column itself, not the ellipsis.
