Fill a Resource Request

Resource requests are an efficient way to let your team know that you need a resource for a particular project. Create a resource request when you need a resource but aren't sure who to assign, or if you do not have permissions to create assignments yourself.

After a request is created, a resource can be assigned to fill that request.

• Required User Permissions

• Any user can be assigned to fill a request, even if they do not meet the requirements in the request, such as having the requested certifications.

• By default, the Assignment Boards will show all outstanding requests, regardless of the date selected. To only show requests for the day you are viewing update the defaults when viewing the Assignment Boards. See View the Assignments Boards.

1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

2. Click Assignments and select Boards.

3. Click the resource bench icon to open a list of your resources.

4. Click Labor or Equipment.

5. From the 'Bench', drag and drop the resource on to the request to assign the resource.

1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

2. Click Assignments and select Gantt (Beta).

3. Select the request.

   • On the list, right click the request or the request bar and click Edit Request.

   • Hover over the request in the list and click the vertical ellipsis , then select Edit Request.

   • Right click the request or the request bar and click Edit Request.

4. Under 'Resource' select a resource.
   Note: Equipment listed is from the company's Equipment register.

5. Click Update to assign the resource to the assignment.

1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

2. Click Assignments and Gantt.

3. Click the bar for the request that you want to fill.

4. Click Fill Request.

5. Select the assignee from the 'Resource' drop-down menu.

6. Choose an option to save the assignment:

   • Click Save.

   • Select the caret icon and select Save and Alert to save the assignment and send an assignment alert to the assignee.

     • Optional: Update the 'Subject'.

     • Optional: Update the 'Alert Content'.

     • Select when to send the alert:

       • Send Now. Select this to send the alert immediately, then click Send.

       • Schedule. Move the toggle to the ON position to schedule the alert to be sent in the future. See Manage Scheduled Assignment Alerts.

         1. Select the Date and Time to send the alert.

         2. Click Save.

       • Save Draft. Select this to save the alert as a draft. Then click Save. See Manage Draft Assignment Alerts.

1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

2. Click Requests and select Requests List.

3. Locate the request that you want to fill.

   1. Click the add assignee icon to fill a labor request.

   2. Click the add equipment icon to fill an equipment request.

4. Select the resource from the 'Resource' drop-down menu.

5. Click Update to assign the request.
