Duplicate a Project Level Action Plan Template

Duplicating an existing project-level action plan template accelerates setup for quality, safety, or administrative workflows. This process preserves established checklist structures while allowing updates for new project phases or process variations.

Naming Restrictions: Provide a unique title for the new template, as Procore blocks publication if another published template on the project shares the same name.
Attachment Handling: Decide whether to copy reference files into the new template or duplicate the checklist structure only.
Prerequisites
Access: Verify 'Admin' level permissions on the Project level Action Plans tool or appropriate granular permissions.
Preparation: Verify that an existing project template is available to duplicate.
Steps
Duplicate from the template list
Navigate to the Project level Action Plans tool.
Click the Action Plans Settings
icon.Locate the template to copy under the 'Templates' section.
Click the Duplicate
icon inline next to the template.Configure the following options in the 'Duplicate Template' window:
Copy Attachments: Mark the checkbox to include original file attachments, or clear the checkbox to copy the structure only.
Destination: Select Duplicate and Edit to open the new template immediately, or select Duplicate to remain on the template list.
Click Duplicate.
Duplicate from inside a template
Navigate to the Project level Action Plans tool.
Click the Action Plans Settings
icon.Locate the template to copy under the 'Templates' section.
Click Duplicate.
Select attachment and navigation preferences in the window.
Click Duplicate.
Publish the duplicated template
Open the newly created template.
Make necessary updates to sections, items, or descriptions.
Click the Template Title field and enter a unique title.
Click Publish.
