Edit or Unlink Assets from an Action Plan

If equipment requirements change or an asset was linked by mistake, you can modify or remove asset connections at any time. Procore offers the flexibility to unlink an asset directly from within the Action Plan itself or from the asset’s Related Items tab inside the Assets tool.

  • Two Unlinking Methods: Unlinking can be performed either from the Action Plans tool or from the Assets tool (Related Items section).

  • Field Constraints: If a Company Admin has marked the Assets field as Required on the assigned field set, at least one asset must remain linked before saving.

• Ensure you have the required permissions on both the Action Plans and Assets tools.

Option A: Edit or Unlink from the Action Plans Tool

1. Navigate to the project's Action Plans tool.

2. Open the desired action plan and click Edit.

3. Locate the Assets field under General Information.

4. Perform your updates:

   • To add assets: Click the field and select additional assets from the drop-down list.

   • To remove assets: Click the (X) icon next to any asset you want to unlink.

5. Click Save.

Option B: Unlink from the Assets Tool

1. Navigate to the project's Assets tool.

2. Locate and open the asset record.

3. Click the Related Items tab.

4. Find the linked Action Plan and click Unlink next to the record.
