Create Waste Entries

Background

The Waste section allows you to record the type and amount of waste on site, how and where the waste is disposed, and by whom. This is useful for maintaining project compliance with the state waste laws.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:

    • To create entries: 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Daily Log tool.

    • To create pending entries as a collaborator: 'Read Only' or 'Standard' permissions to the project's Daily Log tool with the 'Collaborator Entry Only' granular permission enabled on your permissions template.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Daily Log tool.

  2. Scroll to the Waste section.
    You can also use the left navigation menu to quickly navigate to the Waste section.

  3. To create an entry, add information to the fields.

    Note: Click the caret icon > to expand and v to collapse the field names and their descriptions below.

    Waste - Field Names and Descriptions

    • Company: Select the company name for which you are creating this log entry.

    • Time: Select the waste disposal time using the hour and minute dropdown menus.

    • Material: Enter the type of waste that was disposed of.

    • Disposed By: Enter the company that disposed of the waste.
      Note: You must add companies to the project's Directory tool before selecting the company from this dropdown menu. See Add a Company to the Project Directory.

    • Location: Enter the exact project location where the waste was observed.

    • Method of Disposal: Enter the method used to dispose of the waste.

    • Disposal Location: Enter the location where the waste was disposed.

    • Approximate Quantity [#]: Enter the approximate number of items disposed of in the location specified.

    • Comments: Enter any comments or additional information that further describes the entry (if required).

    • Attachments: Attach any additional files to the entry. To attach the files, do one of the following:

      • Click Attach File(s) and then drag-and-drop a file from your computer to the Drag and Drop your File(s) area.
        OR

      • Click Upload Files to select a file from your computer.

  4. Click Create.
    The log entry is created or added.
